Now comes 'Kovaiyal Thiruvaiyaru'
CHENNAI, December 12 : Thiruvaiyaru goes to Kovai and that too in December! Well, that is what the textile city of Coimbatore is gearing up for. For the first time ever, the Coimbatore city is set to witness a musical extravaganza in the month of Margazhi as a tribute to Saint Thyagaraja, one of the Trinity's of Carnatic music.

Event management company Mark1 is set to present Sri Thyagaraja Aradhana. The most prestigious Utsav will happen at the textile city in the name and style of "KOVAIYIL THIRUVAIYARU".

The three-day utsav will begin on December 23. It will be held at R S Puram Kalaiarangam.

The three-day musical festival will see leading artistes from the field of Carnatic and Hindustani genres showcase their talent to Coimbatore audience.

The programme will start at 9 a.m. and last till 9 p.m. on all these days.

The city of Chennai, considered the Mecca of Carnatic music, has been playing host to "Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru'' for some years now. Top artistes have been participating in this musical festival, which is held every December, in Chennai.
