Sundaram Finance to hold 3-day Navarathri special kutcheris in the park
CHENNAI: Sundaram Finance will organise a three-day ‘Navarathri Special Kutcheri in the Park,’ beginning this Friday (September 25, 2009) at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore.

On the first day ( Friday 25th September) of the ‘Navarathri Special’, 12-year-old T. Harini and 9-year-old T. Aishwarya, studying in D.A.V Girls Higher Secondary School, Gopalapuram, will present a Carnatic vocal music performance for an hour from 6.30 a.m. They will be accompanied by S. Sivasubramanian on the mridangam, R.M. Adithya on the dolki and by Mannargudi V. Shankarraman on the harmonium.

On Saturday (26th September), at 6.30 a.m, 12-year-old B. Mrinalini, a student of The Hindu Senior Secondary School, Indra Nagar, will present a Carnatic vocal music performance. She will be accompanied by C. Sarada on the violin and by B. Venkataraman on the mridangam.

On the third and concluding day i.e. Sunday morning (27th September) at 6.30 a.m, R. Muralikrishna, a student of St. Michael’s Academy, Adyar, will present a Carnatic vocal music performance. He will be accompanied by Sriram Sridhar on the violin and by Thirucherai Kaushik Rajagopal on the mridangam.

The idea behind the mikeless kutcheri in the park is to provide a platform for young children to display their musical talent. Sundaram Finance audition committee conducts an audition to select the artistes to perform at the kutcheri in the park.
