Two-day meet on frontiers of research on speech and music to begin on December 15
CHENNAI, May 27: A two-day symposium on "frontiers of research on speech and music (FRSM–2009)" will be held at ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (ABV-IIITM Gwalior), India.

The symposium will begin on December 15, 2009. It will be jointly organised by the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, CDAC, Kolkata, Sir C V Raman Centre for Physics and Music, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology, Gwalior.

The symposium is aimed at highlighting the current status and trends of research and applications in the area of speech, music and allied signal processing.

FRSM is held every year in different parts of India to promote research interest in speech, music and allied signal processing to researchers working in different fields like physics, mathematics, linguistics, musicology, electronics and computer science and to provide a platform for interaction, says a release.

Invited and some contributed papers related to the following topics will be considered for presentation and publication.

Researchers are invited to submit extended abstracts (1,000 words) of original unpublished research work in the related fields by [E-mail: frsm2009@gmail.com] in MS Word format. Alternatively, a hardcopy of the abstract can be sent to Prof. A. K. Datta, Chairman, Organising Committee - Frontiers of Research on Speech and Music (FRSM - 2009), Scientific Research Department, ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Tollygunge, Kolkata 700 040. The submitted abstracts will be reviewed carefully and only accepted papers will be published in the symposium proceedings, says the release.

    November 15, 2009: Final camera-ready paper
    November 30, 2009: Last date of registration

Instructions for the preparation of camera-ready manuscript will be sent along with the notification of paper acceptance, the release says.
