CHENNAI, December 25: TAPAS – The Academy and Yuvakeerthana will celebrate ‘Sangeethotsavam 2009’, an annual festival of music and dance, from January 2, 2009. The festival will last till January 7. The festival will be held at Valasaravakkam.

This time around, TAPAS – The Academy will confer the “Shri Vidhya Tapasvi” award on vocalist Neyveli Santhanagopalan for his service towards bhakthi-oriented traditional music. The award will be presented to him on January 7 at a function presided by Mr. P.S. Saminathan, Chairman, Pyramid Saimira Group, and Mr. Narayana Vishwanath, Chief Editor, Sarigamapadani, and Honourable Member (Programmes), South Zone Cultural Centre, Governtmen Of India. The aforesaid programmes would be held at Kalyani Kalyana Mandapam, Radhakrishnan Road, Opposite HDFC Bank, Valasaravakkam, Chennai 600087.
