CHENNAI, December 14: Sarojini Sundaresan is the only female disciple of Alathur Venkatesa Iyer, keeping the Alathur tradition alive. She is the direct disciple of Alathur Venkatesa Iyer, the father and guru of Alathur brothers. The artiste had the good fortune of acquiring her complete training under the great teacher from the tender age of seven. Her training period extended for over one-and-a-half decade in the traditional teacher-disciple style.

She lives in the U.K. She is currently in Chennai for the music season and slated to perform at a few sabhas. The schedule is given below:
