Flautist N. Ramani to be honoured
CHENNAI, November 14: The 12th annual music festival of the Sri Rama Bhaktha Jana Samaj will get under way here on December 14. It will last till January 4, 2009.
The festival will be held at the Padma Seshadri School, Alagirisamy Salai, K. K. Nagar.
During the festival, senior flautist N. Ramani will be honoured with the title Sangeeta Maamani. Dancer Divya Kasturi will conferred the title ‘Natya Kalaivani.’ Music critic Narayana Vishwanath will be honoured with ‘Sangeetha Kala Seva Ratna’ title.
Mudhra Award for T.N. Seshagopalan: The 14th Fine Arts Festival of Mudhra will begin on December 7 and continue till January 11, 2009.The festival will be held at the Infosys Hall, Ramakrishna Mission School premises, T. Nagar.
On the inaugural day, senior vocalist Madurai T. N. Seshagopalan will be honoured with the Mudhra Award of Excellence for his outstanding contribution to Carnatic music.The award function will be followed by a violin duet by Mysore Nagaraj and Manjunath.
