Tribute to R.R. Keshavamurthy
BANGALORE, June 27: The students of R. R. Keshavamurthy Foundation will come together to remember R. R. Keshavamurthy, a violionist of repute and a towering figure in the world of Carnatic music.

The foundation will honour Prof. V. Ramaratnam of Mysore with “Saadanacharya” Award. The Award carries a cash pprize of Rs. 10,000 cash. Apart from music programmes, there will be a multi-media presentation of video-clippings of the legendary musician. The programme will be held at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram in Bangalore on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Keshavamurthy specialised in the seven-stringed violin. A student of Bidaram Krishnappa and contemporary of violinist Mysore T. Chowdiah, Keshavamurthy specialised in the seven- stringed violin.He had accompanied tall musicians such as M.D. Ramanathan, Ariyakudi, G.N.B., Musuri and Chambai.
